Geolocation issues - Buffer zones, exclusion zones and state borders

We use GeoComply, a third-party location detection software, to check our players' locations.

Only players within the borders of a licensed state can use our real money services.

There are also exclusion zones. Location checks won't be successful if you're close to these. Some examples of these zones include:

  • All tribal lands in MI and CO.
  • Any land-based casino in PA.
  • The New York harbor islands, Liberty and Ellis Island in NJ.
  • Major interstate highways near borders.

Buffer zones also influence the success of location checks. A buffer zone is a radius in which we can determine your location.

How you connect and the settings you use will determine how accurate the location check can be:

  • If you're using cellular data alone, without Wi-Fi or location services, the buffer extends 3 miles.
  • When you connect using Wi-Fi, without location services, the buffer zone is around 328 yards.
  • The buffer zone is approximately 33 feet if you use a mobile device and turn on location services.

For the best chance of passing, turn on Wi-Fi or connect from a mobile device and turn on location services.

You can also try moving somewhere else, away from state borders and buffer zones.
